Product Development Partnering

IntelliTools partners with a number of hardware manufacturers and software publishers to ensure seamless product compatibility for our shared users and thus simpler and easier computer access. A number of our programming collaborations are outlined below.

AbleNet, Inc.
IntelliTools and AbleNet have partnered to ensure that the hardware compatibility of wireless jellybean switches, Jelly Beamers, and IntelliKeys will simplify our users’ access to software.

America Online, Inc. (AOL)
Building on our past collaborations, IntelliTools and AOL have developed overlays for alternative access to AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and the AIM browser. AIM is a free software program that lets users send instant messages and chat online.

Apple Computer, Inc.
A member of the Apple Developers Connection, IntelliTools has collaborated with Apple on developing overlays for alternative access to iTunes, its digital jukebox, and Safari, its powerful web browser.

Don Johnston, Inc.
IntelliTools has collaborated with Don Johnston to create overlays for alternative access to Co:Writer®, and Write:OutLoud® as part of SOLO, their integrated access solution.

DynaVox Technologies
Programming collaboration between the two companies now enables Overlay files from IntelliTools Classroom Suite documents to be saved as DynaVox Series 4 compatible files. This permits DynaVox users to work with IntelliTools Classroom Suite activities and provides a unique gateway to curriculum for augmentative and alternative communication device users.

DynaVox/Mayer-Johnson
Programming collaboration between the two companies now enables direct, seamless access to Boardmaker 5 PCS libraries from IntelliTools Classroom Suite and Overlay Maker 3.

Freedom Scientific
IntelliTools and Freedom Scientific have collaborated to create overlays for alternative access to WYNN and TestTalker. WYNN is a highly customizable reading accommodation. TestTalker is a software solution that provides a computerized version of a test, worksheet, or other form that can talk.

Inspiration Software, Inc.
IntelliTools and Inspiration have collaborated to create overlays to make Kidspiration and Inspiration accessible from our adaptive keyboard, IntelliKeys. Inspiration and Kidspiration are graphic organizers used by students to represent concepts and relationships to organize ideas for reports.

Kurzweil Educational Systems, Inc.
IntelliTools has worked with Kurzweil Educational Systems to develop overlays for alternative access to Kurzweil 3000. IntelliKeys overlays allow customized access to Kurzweil 3000’s many features, including reading, writing, study skills, and test-taking.

Microsoft Assistive Technology Vendor Program
IntelliTools participates in Microsoft’s Assistive Technology Vendor Program (MATvp) and works with Microsoft to ensure computer access. IntelliTools has recently developed overlays to provide alternative access to Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.

Prentke Romich Co.
IntelliTools Classroom Suite activities can now be used directly from the PRC devices. Toolbar buttons from IntelliTools Classroom have been added to the activity row for the Vantage, Vanguard, and Pathfinder devices to allow access to curriculum activities. Pages and tools have been added to the Springboard as well. PRC users can type responses, use answer fields and word prediction, check work, play quizzes, and use multimedia activities.
